Why Hire an Interventionist; A higher likelihood of a successful outcome and reduces stress
by Marc Kantor
In today’s video, I address the most basic of all questions: why should you hire an interventionist. The most obvious answer is to increase the likelihood of successfully getting treatment-resistant people into rehab, and it significantly reduces stress on the family.
Interventionists are skilled at organizing and preparing families for the upcoming intervention that ensures the event goes smoothly and avoids the numerous traps which can spell disaster.
They are also trained to manage objections (some of which are valid and some of which are nonsense) that will be used by the addict to avoid going to treatment.
AND while interventionists care about the families they work with, they can remain in a professional and non-emotional state which allows them to lead the intervention productively without having it dissolve into chaos.
Beyond this interventionists provide a host of services and expertise that ensure the entire intervention process runs smoothly, before, during, and after the intervention. Some of these are:
Verify and explain health insurance benefits;
Help clients make good treatment decisions;
Manage and sometimes negotiate out-of-pocket expenses;
Handle logistics, such as airlines tickets and rental cars;
Escort the individual to treatment and ensure their safe arrival;
Arrange COVID tests before admissions when required;
Keep ongoing communications with the treatment team, and provide ongoing support to the family while their loved one is in treatment, plus a whole lot more. One of the most important things interventionists do is take a lot of responsibilities off the client’s plate and relieve a ton of stress.
